Iceland Photography Tour Overview
When thinking of travel photography destinations, it’s hard not to immediately picture Iceland —with images of milky waterfalls taken with slow-exposure techniques and bright-green otherworldly landscapes coming to mind. Every day will feature special photo workshops and challenges designed to inspire and push students to take their photography to the next level. At the end of the program, you will build an incredible portfolio of your own iconic images from the land of fire and ice.
This remote European country is waiting for you to photograph its hidden treasures. We’ll begin with a tour of the hip city of Reykjavik, home to funky street art, artisan boutiques, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Snap photographs of the incredible architecture that line Reykjavik’s cobblestone streets and get the perfect birds-eye view of the city from the top of the famous church.
From the city we’ll road-trip around the entire country following the Ring Road, making stops along to capture this beautiful country like no other destination you’ve seen before. In addition to all the photography that will take place, you’ll have the chance to snorkel in the fissure where the European and American tectonic plates meet, hear the roar of waterfalls as you stand behind the cascading water, and hang out with puffins as they roost on the cliffs! We’ll go for a soak in several natural hot springs, including the famous Blue Lagoon. You’ll even get the chance to ride majestic Icelandic horses, cross fjords, kayak through a beautiful harbor to a shipwreck, and of course, go on a whale watch!
Students will be instructed based on their level of skill and experience; this program is designed to challenge everyone from an advanced photo student all the way down to a beginner with the desire to improve.
