Who this camp is for
Nike Basketball Development Camp is the entry point into the Nike Basketball pathway for boys and girls aged 10–13. The basketball brochure describes it as suitable for all abilities at this age group – from newer players to those with some club experience who need to build strong fundamentals.
- Age: 10–13
- Gender: boys and girls
- Level: all abilities at this age group
Camp length, dates and options
Development Camps follow the same basic structure as the other Nike Basketball programmes: 1‑ or 2‑week residential stays (6‑ or 13‑night) at world‑class boarding schools in the South‑East of England. Specific date options for this product are shown above.
Families normally choose between:
- Total Basketball – up to 24 hours of basketball per week, plus sports‑related workshops.
- Basketball + English – basketball plus up to 13 hours of English lessons per week.
Training programme
Coaching at Development level focuses on:
- Basic shooting form and finishing near the basket.
- Fundamental ball‑handling and passing skills.
- Footwork, balance and defensive stance.
- Small‑sided games and controlled scrimmages.
Sessions are designed to build confidence and enjoyment while giving young players the technical base they need for future progression.
Locations & facilities
According to the brochure, Development Camps use the same family of boarding‑school venues as the other basketball programmes, such as Radley College and other partner schools, with indoor courts and large campus grounds.
Accommodation, meals & supervision
- Full‑board accommodation with three meals a day.
- Shared bedrooms grouped by age and gender.
- 24‑hour supervision, age‑appropriate rules and structured evening activities.
- International Student Travel Insurance from Howden included for bookings via the official operator.
Excursions & international experience
Excursions suitable for younger players are built into the schedule during longer stays, so campers can see more of England in a safe, supervised way. Because the camp attracts participants from many countries, children use English naturally in training and free time.
Airport transfers & travel
- Standard and UM transfers from London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW) are available.
