Overview

This is a camp for children aged 6 to 10 who come with their mum. While the children are in their English lessons in the morning, mums have a program of their own on campus — language lessons, spa time, yoga, art, gastronomy workshops, shopping and a traditional Turkish breakfast. Then the two come together again for lunch and the afternoon's outing.

Children have 16 hours of English a week in small classes of 5 to 8, at their own level from beginner to advanced, after a placement test on the first day. Afternoons are shared: a sightseeing tour of Bursa, the Extrempark adventure park, swimming, the seaside and a creative art workshop, and a guided full day in Istanbul at the end of the first week. Families who stay two weeks add the zoo, a space and aviation centre and a two-day trip to Cappadocia with a night in a hotel.

Bursa — "Green Bursa", the first Ottoman capital — sits between the Sea of Marmara and Uludağ mountain, a couple of hours from Istanbul. Mothers and children stay together in a hotel-type residence with full board, and the campus facilities are open to mums during the day.

A day at camp

  • Morning Breakfast together, then English lessons for the children from 9:00 to 13:00 in a class of 5–8. Meanwhile mums can join the optional program on campus: English sessions, spa time, yoga, art, gastronomy workshops, a shopping morning or a traditional Turkish breakfast
  • Midday Lunch together from 13:00
  • Afternoon An outing or activity for mothers and children together — a Bursa sightseeing tour, the Extrempark adventure park, swimming, the seaside or a creative art workshop; in week 2 the zoo and the space and aviation training centre
  • Evening Dinner together at 18:00
  • Weekends Sunday is arrival day, with an orientation and a welcome party. On the first Saturday everyone spends a full day in Istanbul, and Sunday is relaxed: a late breakfast, free time, shopping and a traditional Turkish dinner. Families staying two weeks go to Cappadocia for two days midweek and finish with a farewell party on Friday and departure on Saturday.

Where campers stay

Each mother and child share a double room in a hotel-type residence in a modern, secure neighbourhood of Bursa. Rooms are en-suite, with a TV, a fridge and free Wi-Fi, and housekeeping is included; there are lounges and common areas. A 5-star hotel is also available instead — ask us. Lessons and activities use the campuses of a large private school group in the city, with two swimming pools, sports halls, art, music and dance studios, a gastronomy workshop and yoga studios — and the facilities are open to mums during the day.

Meals

Full board: three meals a day plus healthy snacks, so campers get to taste plenty of Turkish cooking. Meals come from a professional catering company that is certified and inspected by the authorities. Food allergies and special diets can be catered for if they're listed at booking. On the Istanbul day campers get a packed lunch, and each week ends with a traditional Turkish dinner.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this camp for?

Children aged 6 to 10 who travel with their mum. The children have their own English classes in the morning, mums have their own program at the same time, and the afternoons and excursions are for both together.

What does the price include?

One week is €1,950 and two weeks are €3,850, for a mother and child together. The price includes a shared double room, three meals a day and snacks, the children's English lessons and materials, the program for mums, and all excursions with transport and entrance fees. Flights and airport transfers are extra.

What do mums do while the children are in class?

There's an optional program on campus: English sessions for mums, spa time, yoga, art lessons, gastronomy workshops, a shopping morning and a traditional Turkish breakfast. It's all optional — the campus facilities are open to mums during the day, so you can also simply relax by the pool or explore.

What level of English does my child need?

None in particular — children from beginner to advanced are welcome. Each child takes a placement test on the first day and joins a class of 5 to 8 at their level, with accredited, certified teachers. There are 16 hours of English a week, and every child gets a certificate at the end.

One week or two?

The 1-week program (June 20–27, 2027) includes Bursa, the adventure park, the seaside, swimming, an art workshop and a full day in Istanbul. The 2-week program (June 20 – July 3, 2027) adds more swimming and art, the zoo, a space and aviation training centre and a two-day trip to Cappadocia with a night in a hotel.

How do we get from the airport?

Airport transfers aren't included in the price — they're an extra cost. Bursa is about 120 km from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen airport (SAW) and 180 km from Istanbul Airport (IST). On the 2027 price list, a private VIP transfer is €330 return from Sabiha Gökçen or €420 from Istanbul Airport for 2–3 people; a transfer at set times for one person is €190 / €215 return. Arrivals are on Sunday. Ask us before you book flights and we'll check the best airport and times.

Do we need a visa?

Turkey isn't in the EU or the Schengen area, but travellers with a passport from most EU countries don't need a visa for a short stay like this. Your child needs their own passport, and Turkey asks for passports that are valid for several months after the trip — check the dates before you book, and check the current rules for your country. For any other passport, ask us and we'll find out what applies.

What will we eat?

Three meals a day plus healthy snacks, from a certified catering company, with plenty of Turkish dishes to try. Allergies and special diets can be catered for — just tell us when you book.

What insurance do we need?

Travel and health insurance isn't included. Turkey is outside the EU, so the European Health Insurance Card doesn't cover treatment there — take out a comprehensive travel and health policy for both of you. Ask us if you'd like help choosing one.

What should we pack?

Light summer clothes, comfortable trainers, pyjamas, swimsuits and towels for the pool and the seaside, sun cream, toiletries, a small backpack for excursions, a book for your child, and some pocket money.
